    What are your guidelines when choosing additional RAM for your rigs? Thanks for the insights!

    Can you be more specific about what is your hardware spec. But one is if you have four slot & want 4 gb choose them as 1+1+1+1 or 2+2 not as whole & put them in same colored slot to be able to enjoy benefit of dual channel.

    Default equal balanced memory!

    using equal balanced memory in each slot is advisable. example if there is 2 slots, use 1GB in each or 2 GB in each.
