Thread: Now it is official facebook has taken over orkut in india

Orkut was losing traffic and interest from Indian users long back, and the shift had started . Now many have migrated to facebook while the early users are still sticking on.

Some months back google introduced new changes in orkut to save it, like facebookish status updates and video testimonials. But the new look was hardly going to be enough to stop Indians from moving to facebook.

Facebook has even taken over hi5 users. Facebook draws appeal mainly from the fact that it is more globalized and has professional look an feel. Facebook also has many useful and fun applications which are far better than orkut.
Orkut was never popular worldwide having users mainly from India and brazil.
Are you also migrating to facebook ?

i never liked orkut / facebook.. it was my brother who called me to have an account on it cause " everyone has it" and that "its really cool to be there"...

most of my friends are there but noone updates any well, so who cares??

Facebook has many interesting applications and games its more secure and it fully globalized that is the reason it is more popular than orkut and Hi5

According to me having account in all social sites doesnt matter. In which social site we are regularly active thats important. It depends upon on you how u like a site, many people like facebook for its lite usage, many like orkut for its interface, twitter easy handling and so on. Better to have one active account in any one social site and active regularly will make difference in ur online friends circle for sure.

I have an FB account but visit it only once a week.
