Thread: how to bypass OCR/copy-paste tracking in MS word HELP!!!!

i got an assignment in which i have to convert pdf to word file. I have OCR reader which can do it quite effectively for me

now the condition attached to it is that i cant use any OCR software nor can i copy-paste it


what i wanna know is how do i bypass this cheking by the company and how do they track word file for such changes

any help will be appreciated friends

The exact nature of assignment is not clear from the above problem description.

Because the first statement says "convert PDF to word". Second you said that copy/paste (manual or OCR) is not allowed.

Then it means that you have read the original document and rewrite the content in your own words.

If my interpretation is not correct, then you can of course copy/paste. There is no way Word file can be linked to PDF.

sorry if it was unclear then let me elaborate it little more

i got a pdf file of around 500 pages which i have to type into MS word 2003 [.doc file] in just a week time so i looked for some converter and found a really good OCR s/w which created an exact copy of the word file [the copy i have to submit]

now the company says that we cant use any OCR to create a file so i took a second option to copy-paste text matter into new blank word document

again they say that they wont allow even cut/copy/paste in final word file

now a third try was to dictate through speech recognition which was again rejected by the company

NOW my question is that how the company will track that the given word file is a work of copy/paste or is been generated by an OCR and is there any way to bypass those cheking

Probably the software you have used has imprinted watermark on all pages.

sorry but i just exceeds the forum limit ... the 2 files are 862KB in size so i just zip them and posting here

NO watermarks i just have to type exact text written in the pdf file

may involve legal action.
What your company needs is not clear.
When the book is available in the web now.
What is the designation you have ? partime fulltime / On contract basis?
Or just a glorified typist ?

on contract basis

this is just a sample file ..... i dont know the real work they will give me .... i just have to type them to word file without images

i had a long conversation with them abt the inbuilt voice recognition in MS office 2003 and they dont allow it as well .... dam that's ridiculous

had that been allowed i would have done it with the help of 2 combine s/w

if its a legal issue then why are they creating the .doc file

Probably the original draft has many spelling mistakes and they expect you to check your knowledge of English Language and correct spelling errors.
May the book has not been published, and the author could have asked this company for "Proof Reading "
If the compensation is worth, give a try ..
Check the compamy ( company) is not some "fly by Night" set up and refuse payment later.
or ask them for an advance payment for say 50 pages !
PS: even here spelling mistakes are cheked ( checked )!underline in red before posting here.

well said they wont pay me anything in advance .... i have 15 days to complete the assignment and i think i need only 1 day to complete so will submit it after 10 days .... lets see if i can get 10K for just a 1 day work

just tell me 1 thing. i you convert that PDF file to WORD(.doc) using any 3rd party software , how the hell your company will know that you have not typed even a single word ?

so just convert that PDF to WORD and then do editing like margin , header , footer , remove images , do spell check and submit it to them.

its very simple and for 500 pages , 2 days are more then enough.
