Default How to Remove Startup Icons

I have some startup icons, which I am unable to remove from startup. Is there any other way I can remove them from starting up?

Some of the them are things which come with the laptop when it was brought like HP Updates etc.

From your previous posts I am assuming that you are using Windows XP version. If so then you need to first click on the Start Menu, in the dialogue box you need to type in msconfig.exe and click on it. This will then open a box, and you need to click on the Start Up tab, from where you can select and deselect programs that you want opened up during the computer start up.

There are many ways, the developers make their programs to be in startup. Some use msconfig, some use startup folder, some more use Registry. To remove a program from startup, you need to check all of these. First check msconfig as @Ramjet mentioned, then check startup folder which can be found in start menu. To check the Registry, you need some knowledge about it, but if you don't have that, then use CCleaner.

If it is a virus program that you are talking about, then check properties of those programs which are run in startup. Cause, the virus programs can't removed in the above mentioned ways.

Just open the Startup menu and press the right click on the icon you want to remove and will show a contextual menu that has an option that says "remove from list", you have to click it and ready, there won't be more icons.

There is a program called CCleaner that works really well to remove all trash, icons and files that no longer serve us. One option is to remove certain icons startup menu and also from our desktop. There are other programs very helpful too, that allow destroy all trash that is inside our computers but, CCleaner in my opinion is the best.

Removing the recycle bin is tricky and you have to go into settings to clear them, but there is an app tjayllows you to hide them by just double clicking on the page. Sadly I can't remember the name but googling will bring it out for whoever needs to know about it now
