Can someone please tell me more about this service from Google, I think it is on invite basis only, but what exactly is this service?

Yes it is by invite only. I think every Google service is like this, first by invites then for available easily for all.

It's just like outlook. In simple terms, Inbox is an application to manage emails. If you have used outlook any time, then it is easy to understand the Inbox. It is available to Android, iOS, Chrome etc. Currently it is in pilot mode and invitees only allowed to use. Once Google believes that Inbox is ready to launch, then Inbox will be made available to all. Hope it will be soon.

@panchabhut I too used Mozilla Thunderbird for sometime. But, I shifted to Outlook as Thunderbird was not working fine with proxy server. It was very difficult to setup Thunderbird, compared to Outlook, while using proxy. I hope, Google release Inbox soon. I am waiting for it.

I never heard about Inbox by Google and good thing I am able to check this forum. I am familiar of Outlook so I think I have an idea how Inbox looks like. Hopefully, it will be made available anywhere and not selected territories only.

So would this be like gmail? Or would it be to manage all your emails? For example Hotmail, yahoo mail, or is it just for gmail users? And this would be a program that you download o to your computer right? I haven't really had much experience with these types of things, so I'm curious to find out more about them!

I do think it is an email service but you can do a lot of things in it. And it looks different from other email services like Gmail, Yahoo Mail or Hotmail.

Ah okay, thanks, I might check it out, as its annoying going onto Google mail every time, and their website is sometimes very slow and unresponsive. I might get it once it comes out, and properly organize my email, as I have around 999+ unread emails (mostly from companies which I signed up to etc)

I think Inbox, as well as Outlook, makes it easier to organize your mails so I think it will work for you. Anyway, I had also some issues recently with Gmail so I think many of us finds it annoying using the said service. I even find it more annoying too with Yahoo mail.

Imbox does not replace Gmail, complements it

Before you read what we are looking Inbox, a clarification: if you decide to use Inbox, fear not for your Gmail. This is, we'll see if now or forever, product / new Google service, and you can use it with your usual inbox Gmail. In fact, it has its own application for smartphones and web address different from that of Gmail. Yes, mail trays both services are linked, so if you delete or modify a mail in Inbox us I is reflected in Gmail and vice versa
