Default Will computer hibernation feature consume power?

Normally i hibernate my computer at 10 pm and set it to start at 2 am automatically.Yesterday i hibernated my computer and at 11 am there was a power cut for 2 minutes and i thought it would resume at 2 am but to my dismay it didn't.
Will it require some power to maintain its state?

    Moved to the correct section.

Yes your computer will consume some power and if you are trying to save electricity or batteries I suggest you shut it down instead of letting it hibernate
