CD Drive lost!!!

Default CD Drive lost!!!

Hi Guys

I just figured out while attempting to run a CD that my CD drive icon is not there...even my CD is not opening up...I dn't find any way to open up the CD content.

Please help

First check if the CD Drive cables are still intact. After that go to Device Manager and and check if the CD drive icon is there.

If you meant that the drive is behaving abnormally after you inserted the cd,
then the problem maybe with the cd.

Restart your computer and immediately eject the cd.

Otherwise you have to use the age old method of ejecting cd using the pin hole.

Again, you may want to check the drive cables if any of the above methods don't work.

Its a very common problem mostly associated with sony/samsung/hp cd-drives.
Check device manager just like Archer had shown, if (and most probably) the cd-drive is not shown there then open the cabinet, use different cables (use diff power jack and diff data cable).
If the problem persists, then the rom has died on u.
If within warranty, get it replaced/repaired.
