| GENERAL CLEANING TIPS You can save your computer's maintenance cost if you clean your computer on a regular basis. It increases the life of all components in your computer This will improve the cooling and performance of your computer components. Your computer component's life will be reduced if you do not clean it on a regular basis, because dust degrades the performance of your hardware and reduces the effects of heat sinks thus making it more likely for your components to suffer damage from over heating . * Never place your computer on the ground, always use computer table or shelf for this purpose. * While on a table make sure that the backside of your CPU[where the fan is most likely present] does not face the wall , and if it does make sure there is atleast 2 feet of space between your wall and CPU . * To clean computer case first unplug your system power from the electrical outlet. Remove all cables and connectors from the back side of your computer. * Use a blower [Hand Fan or Vacuum Cleaner with appropriate component attached] to clean the insides of the case. * Now blow the air around all the hardware components and keeping away your blower nozzle 4 to 5 inches away from main board components. You can use vacuum cleaner also for this purpose but compressed air is the better solution to clean a system. * At the end using lightly dampened cloth or spray any cleaning fluids on the computer case and use paper towel to dry it. * Never clean inside computer components or other circuit board with damp or wet cloth. * Always be careful not to eat or drink around the computer. *Always use a mouse pad . It reduces the probability of waxy stuff getting collected under your mouse Laser Printer Cleaning Tips Laser printer is the faster, high quality printer and is more expensive than inkjet printers and their printing quality is also higher. The print quality and printing speed of laser printers them make ideal for offices and business use. The printer is the most commonly used output device in office environment. That is why printers require extra care compared to other components of the computer. There is no any difficulty to clean a printer if you have proper cleaning tools and methods. * Never place your printer on the ground, always use table or shelf for this purpose. * If you have the printer manufacturer manual, first read on how to keep it safe and how to clean it. * Now disconnect your printer from the back side of the computer and unplug power from the electrical outlet. * First use the compressed air to clean dust, toner powder from the outside and inner side of the printer. * Use lightly dampened cloth or cleaning fluid to clean the body of the printer and avoid to spraying fluid near any holes on the printer. * Use paper towel to clean the toner and brush to clean the inside of the printer. Always cover your printer with dust cover when you are not using it.[very important!] |

Rep Power: 2 | Maybe few points to add: Best if vaccum cleaners are prevented. Ther battery powered ones could be used in certain areas but not the ones which take power from the power socket. That will result in static electric with sensitive components. Nothing beats a proper dry un-used paint brush, air compressor can in short burst and some extra muscle. In order to clean lcd screens, you can use those lcd wipes that you get. However the best solution that can be used is isopropyl alcohol with 90% and above content level and some un used lint free cloth. Put the isopropyl alcohol on the cloth and wipe the screen gently. Best thing about isopropyl alcohol being used as a cleaning solvent is because this evaporates as soon as it touches the surface. Isopropyl alcohol is also best solution to remove thermal paste from the processor and the heatsink. Some pc veterans also prefer using it on copper heatsink and heatpipes to remove de- oxidisation. Isopropyl alcohol is used to clean those dirty discs as well but its best if you do it as careful as you can and its best if one cleans from the inner ring to the outer circumference- compared to clockwise and counterclockwise cleaning. It is also very important to clean spikeguard as well. Best if you clean the blowfuse as well. |
