Mine has 5ms Response time. It also has NON WIDE SCREEN MODE. Where I can set the resolution to 1024*768 to play games like Warcraft III without screen stretching.

Nope. Go for 19" Atleast. If you have better gpu then go for 22" or 24". The Bigger the better.

Lets say both have native resolution of 1440 x 900.
I'm concerned about Texture Pixelate and noise. Plz reply.

I think I'll go for Samsung because of high contrast ratio.
with all the above specifications, one also consider the following things.

1.just go for a high dynamic contrast ratio.
2.minimum response time.

if you ask me,
i go for response time and dynamic contrast ratio first
and then i will consider the size.
because size is not factor of performance.

In the 17 inch sector i checked a lot of LCDs i found Samsung had the least Response time around 4ms ... among the available models i mean .

View sonic seems to have lost the plot .... they were once the best , but samsung seems to have beat them yet again

here r 2 models with 2ms in samsung :
Samsung T220 22” (Wide) Rose Black 2ms
Samsung T240 24” (Wide) Rose Black 2ms

These r the ONLY 2 monitors frm samsung with 2ms, as shadow has alrdy pointed out, none in the 17'' segement have 2ms response time.

But they r on a Singapore pricelist.

Also, viewsonic is very limited in india, but other places, it has some gr8 stuff.

View sonic had the fastest response time once. But competition has increased now and other companies are also producing good products. Buyers have to consider the availabilty of support also and thus they go for more natively popular companies.

Anyway. The first thing before buying bigger monitor it should be considered that they have higher native resoultion and thus better gpu is required. So I had to go for 19".
22" has 1680 x 1050 native resolution. Playing games would have been difficult there with my 8600 GT.
