Just to Add one point,
If u are going with Phenom II,
Try to Use an good CPU cooler, not the BOX one.

If u go with the BOX CPU cooler, after 15 to 20 mins of game playing CPU temp will shore at 60C +, CPU fan will rotate at 5.5 - 5.7 K RPM and you CPU will sound like almost a Ledge machine.

That cooler should have Horizontal Airflow.

My suggestions
never go for intel prossessor or mother boards
its not worth
amd phenom ii 940 with 3.02 Ghz is best choice :tt2:

it was a great insight by reading thru your posts. could u pls suggest a gaming config for 50K? i am going to buy one within the next week. it would be nice if u could indicate the prices too.

well, recently there were price cuts in the Phenom 2 quads, they have not taken effect yet in india. The corei5 will be out soon(if all goes well).
Plz PM me what exactly this PC will be 4, and what parts do u need.

personally have not use AMD but have used Intel and works great with out any problem so recommended that....

u cant generalize like that. Be more specific. The performance is close.
EG: Phenom 2 940 is a little faster than a Q9400 in most of the games, but if ur good at overclocking, the Q9400 may JUST get its nose ahead.

also, avoid ITwares, some1 told me that they do some illegal stuff, have not purchased anything frm them. I have bought stuff frm techshop.in, they r fast(usually,in shipping). Their support is pretty helpful too. But if u can, where ever possible get frm a local(good) store.

If u are in bangalore, then computer warehouse is a good store, its on MG road. I get all my stuff frm there.

Rajan thanx. but will this config be able to play the latest games (crysis, far cry2). also how long will this be able to hold on before i need to change again.

crysis and farcry 2 should run smooth on max settings. But in Crysis, do not enable AA, and u will be fine. Can say how long it will be before u need to change it. DX11 cards should come in the market in 2010. But it will be a while b4 u need to get a new system. So enjoy it till u can.
