Phenom 920 anyday IMO. So, go 4 it !!
Avoid DDR2 1066 memory with it.

Bought a new PC....

AMD Processor
Asus M3A78-EM
Palit Ultracool 4850
Cooler Master Extreme power 600W
Cooler Master cabinet 334 Elite.

Now real bad news is this m\c gives a new problem.

Sometimes, when I press power button to switch on computer, some noise is coming out from Graphics Card. No display is coming to Monitor.
Whenever this noise comes, no display, computer does not boots up.
Otherwise works fine.
These probelm does not happens every time. happen some time.say 4 cases out of 10.

One thing may happen because due to some extra cooler, GPU sometime gets loose as this MB does not have any extra clip in PCI slot. This is my notion.

Any idea guys...

i've read all da reviews but im still confused..so plz give da information about best gaming cpu for 30-40 k..it must be able 2 play gta4 smoothly n also the latest highend games..
so plz write config with price details, which will be much helpful also about a keyboard N mouse 2 under 30-40k..thankyou

^^ Hey buddy, u have a good budget.

In order to play GTA4 and games like crysis smoothly u may need to triple ur budget. But at this cost, i can assure u that at 1280x768, u will be able to play them at max quality.

The reason i chose a biostar Motherboard is that it is a good quality brand. Also, it has SB750. Now what that means is that if u get lucky, u can unlock the 4th core of ur processor. Many of those who had unlocked it, found it to be very stable.
ATI 4850 is the minimum u need to play newer games at max. anything above (9800GTX+) will not only be more costly, but also require 2x6pin pci e connectors, which will further increase the cost of ur comp(cos u will need better power supply).
4GB of is a not too important. U can use 3GB too and save 1k on that. Upto u.
the HDD was a steal at that price !!
For the PSU, corsair is one of the best brands.If u wanna learn more abt PSU, read this very nice article:

The rest is pretty much same.
U can get the same PSU for a lesser cost at a local shop. Plz do not get tempted by Rs 500 walla PSU. Corsair PSU are highly recommended.

Both are the same processors.

This processor is a TRI core processor. Meaning, it has 3 functional cores.
The thing is, AMD just disabled a core frm a Quad core processor and made it a Tri core.

U can/have a chance of enabling that extra core in the BIOS.
U just have to go to ACC settings, and set it to auto and walla, ur done !!!
When u go to windows, u will now see 4 cores instead of 3.

Most of the ppl who did it on this motherboard have found it to be stable too.

So u end up getting a very fast quad core processor at 8.6k !!.

PS: There are some AMD processors which have 4MB L3 cache instead of 6MB, there are ways to enable that extra 2MB on a 4MB L3 cache chip too. Will strt a thread on it soon.

Just to Add one point,
If u are going with Phenom II,
Try to Use an good CPU cooler, not the BOX one.

If u go with the BOX CPU cooler, after 15 to 20 mins of game playing CPU temp will shore at 60C +, CPU fan will rotate at 5.5 - 5.7 K RPM and you CPU will sound like almost a Ledge machine.

That cooler should have Horizontal Airflow.

never go for intel prossessor or mother boards

its not worth
amd phenom ii 940 with 3.02 Ghz is best choice

RAM = transcend 2GB 800mhz x 2 < 2100
Grafics = ATi 4850 < 10,000

DVD Writer = moser baer 22x < 1,200
cabinet = as your choice look for more fans

well, recently there were price cuts in the Phenom 2 quads, they have not taken effect yet in india. The corei5 will be out soon(if all goes well).
