Default Suggesion For New Gaming PC around 30K-40K

Hi Guys,

I need help for u guys regarding a New Gaming PC configuration.

Following are my Requirments:

1. Budget Should be Within 40K.
2. I don't need Monitor. Having Already 17" LCD
3. Memory 250Gb will suffice.
4. System Should not be overheated.
5. Should be almost silent system.

Please suggest me a configuration which nearly fullfill all above.

Thanks In Advance.

as ur budget is 40k, corei7 is out of question. The P55 mobo have been delayed to September, so if u really want corei7, w8 till sept-oct.
In fact this is a bad time to get a new rig/upgrade. W8 another month.
bcos of this :
techPowerUp! News :: Intel January Price Cuts Update

and the possible arrival of phenom 2 in india.
In march ATI will be releasing RV770 refresh. They are 40nm dies(frm 55nm) and have more shaders. RV740 will have 640sp. RV790 is expected to have 960 Sp. They will be called HD4950,HD4970, etc. These cards are gonna be cheaper, faster, cooler and more energy efficient.

So save ur cash for now and spend it after 2 months.

Hi Rajan,
Really thanks for your suggession.
ATI is releasing those in March. Will those be available in Indian Market from April?

And one more thing:

What about 8800 GTX? Can you please give an idea about pricing of HD 49 series.

Thanks

Buddy ATI said that they will release in march so i suppose it should be in a month in the form of a pre order.
Actually, things are getting better in india. The GTX295 is in india within 1 week of launch. So the RV770 refresh may be here sooner than expected.
About the price, cant say anything. Since it is 40nm it WILL be cheaper to make. Hence the prices should be lower. Assume the 4950 to be around 10-11k mark(which still is a ripp off).
About the 8800GTX, its very very old.............
Its slower than the ATI 4850. It(8800GTX) costs to be 38k (in stores in b'lore). Stay away from the following:
8800GTX
8800GTS 640MB
8800GTS 320MB
HD2900XT
HD2900PRO
8800GTS 512MB(G92)

all the above are pretty much obsolete. They have been replaced by newer, better, greener cards. I would not recommend any as they still are at old(very high) prices. If u get any of them 2nd hand below 6k then even think of them, else just pass.
Read some reviews on websites like:
AnandTech: your source for hardware analysis and news
techPowerUp! - The latest in hardware and gaming
VR-Zone : Technology Beats. News and Reviews
www.hardwarezone.com® :: Connecting IT To You

and there are plenty more sites. If u wanna game on ur comp, chk what resolution ur most likely to play at. What kind of performance u want. What amt of money u can shell out and then decide what suites u the best. If u have the time, stay aware of all the latest news. Look out for price cuts and new technology on their forums.

hope this helps you.

Hi

Thanks Again. Very Very helpful post.

I have made one mistake. I was asking for 8800 GT not GTX.

And abt my budget, Total should not exeed 40K.

As I have mentioned that I am already owing a 17" LCD, so the resolution should be 1440x900.

I think in april all will be available. Phenom 2 will also be new. So price for that may also become an issue.

ATi 4850 is a lot faster than 8800GT. So 4950 should be faster too.

Core 2 extreme is still $1000 +.
what 512MB card u talkin abt??? Plz be more specific. I really dont like crossfire/SLI . Very limited scaling in most games. Only a handful scale more than 50%. Well, since this guy has 40K to spend, get a ATI4870 1GB ?(Rs17k).
should cost totally inside 40k(pirated OS).

For 8 GB I have to go for 64 bit.
I think 2 or 3 GB will suffice...

Anybody have any news on DDR3...
