| Platinum Member | Went thru the complete article. So what you are getting for nearly $1900, is a fancy blu-ray player!! And the above amount does not even consider the cost of the monitor for normal PC opeartions - add another $300. A blu-ray player in US is now retailing for $200 to $350. For the balance saved, you can construct or buy a good PC complete with NAS. Nice article but too pricey in my opinion.

But if you are looking at long term, buy an amp with Dolby TruHD sound and 7.1 channel system. Like this one: Yamaha Music Australia - Audio Visual - Home Theatre Packages I would recommend that buy the amp/receiver only and go for Bose passive speakers. Bose Acoustimass 16 Home Entertainment Speaker System – 6.1 Channel - Home Theater Speaker Systems will cost around US$ 1299. | |

| hehe $3000, if i ask my dad, plz hav an Obituary for me too. Can u plz suggest an amp(not this yamaha cant find it in india). Keep minimal costs and see whats the best that works(price/perfomance wise). It would be better if was avaliable in india. i was think abt this as i do not have space for a rear channel(it would be right above my head). BOSE INDIA Also, 10k for stands is too much. I was gonna do some adjustments to my present JVC stands. Even wall mounting costs 1.3k. This is really costly !!! Btw how can i fix it(amp) to my HTPC so that i can watch downloaded content ? Hey i just called up my dad (he stays in dubai). The Bose system and yamaha RXV 363 costs AED 3000 (approx Rs 39000). In the bundle, u get the amp free !!!! I have asked him he will go chk the store next friday ! But then the AMP supports 500W(100x5). All speakers are 100W max. No choking prob naa ? Last edited by rajan1311; 02-06-09 at 09:08 PM. | Platinum Member | You should ask you dad to confirm with the electronic shop that the Bose speakers and amp are evenly matched. Bose speaker are rated at 100W per channel though they could be less for surround. |
