    Unhappy CRT vs. LCD for eye strain

    i have 17 crt monitor. & love to play games & surf.

    but i dont want eye strain or headache.

    should i upgrade lcd or not? what's ur opinion?

    Yes, u should... It reduces eye strain significantly..

    Tho u should go for monitors with least response time, since u wanna play games.

    Traditionally people were not very eager to go towards LCD as the response times lead to ghosting and other issues. I believe this has been resolved now with the new LCD monitors, try to go in for a LCD TV which is HD Complaint...this will allow you to play games in amazing resolution (with the correct card)

    I would also recommend switching to LCD monitors in order to avoid eye strains

    well ... i dont think that lcd monitors really helps avoiding eye strains ... u can avoid eye strains even on a crt monitor and have them even on a lcd one ... for example read the second last post on this page : LCD Monitor Eye Strain - CNET Community weekly poll Forums

    The eye strain reduction mechanisms depicted in the article is already being implemented by majority of the users.

    I read that comment mentioned. Frankly i think this is a relative factor which is dependent upon the eyes of the beholder. Some may find LCD better than CRT and vice versa.

    exactly ... depends from person to person ... i used to use a anti glare screen with my crt monitor earlier ... but it wasnt of any good ... only the colour and picture quality gets disturbed by them
