My GPU iS HOT. I guess i have no thermal paste on my CPU so its that hot(80C). Apart frm new paste, what shall i get ?? I can put only 1 80mm fan.

Change the thermal paste. Use isopropyl alcohol with above 90% alcohol content and lint free cloth to clean out the thermal paste from the proccy and heatsink. Use a new thermal paste. Clean out the vents on the psu using a dry brush or can of compressed air ONLY. If it idles at 80 degrees celcius then its a really serious issue. Post your detailed config here including the psu.

k i shall do that asap.

My current old rig which has this prob is this:
Intel PentiumD 805(OC to 3.6GHz) stock HSF
    1GB DDR RAM
    80GB seagate HDD
    Intel D101Ggc motherboard
currently holds my ATI4850, but i will be removing it.

My PSU is a Cooler master Extreme PowerDuo 600W(i know its outdated)

I will reduce clocks after i get my new rig. But that does not make much difference. Temp goes down to 74-76C.

Reduce the clocks and remove the gfx card. Underclock it till the temperature issue gets resolved. There is a possibility that the board might not be reading the temps properly from the thermal diode on the proccy, see if the new bios helps as well. Make sure the front fans and rear fans are pushing in fresh air and pushing out hot air. Use cable ties to tie cable which is dangling around.

bro i got only 1 rear fan(80mm) and a PSU fan(120mm), both blow out hot air.
I have 2 vents (cant mount fans) on the side, for air to come in.

Ok i will try to underclock it. The min it goes to is 2.0GHz.
The temps in BIOS are even higher, i reported it frm Everest(80C). I hope its just that the issue is the thermal paste only.

Let's change the thermal paste and clean the heatsinks and fans from dust to see if the temps are improving. If not then there should be an access for the air to come in.

Yes, i had done the same a few days back. Used compressed air to clean out the interiors, dust back from 2002 was ridden for ever

well i never gave so much importance to temp, but now i think i must do it, here is my compu config -
    procc - CORE 2 quad Q6600
    MB - INTEL DG35EC
    RAM - 2GB ZION 800MHZ
    HDD -160GB SATA
    GFX - HD4670 512MB
    PSU - 450W FRONTECH

now the reading of the temps which i m getting from speedfan is -
    system - 92c
    cpu - 74c
aux - -128c (ya its minus)
    HDD - 42c
& all 4 cores of my procc are reading @ from 58c-63c
i dont have any ram cooler & using default cooler system given by intel for my processor , now the question is, is those above readings are ok?? if they are over heated then what are the steps that i should take??
p.s. dont ask me to buy chasis fan as i got 3 of it installed already

Its not worth using frontech psu even an onboard in the first place.
As said before- psu is also a big reason for temperature increase. In India you dont get really good low end 350w-400w power supply with an active pfc in a cheap price of 1.5k- 2.8k so the hit comes there. In reality many months ago corsair vx450 came with 5 years warranty for 3.2k! For this kind of product in this price is epic value for money, considering the fact that distri hike up the price for good products from the start. Unfortunatly now its 3.9k- 4.2k. Reason why its done- to squeeze in cx400 for 3.2k- 3.5k and its not dollar conversion. If you think about it corsair cx400 would have been fantastic buy @ 2.8k which I am sure people with dedicated GCs can afford- as it is due to the high efficiency you are decreasing loss between ac- dc conversion and thereby saving electricity.
Do remember as I said before again- more fans doesnt not mean more cooling. At many times it does more harm than good.

(HD 4670) [edit - it shows 3.4k in techshop.in]

    yes it is supported.
Go ahead and buy it IF u get it at 3.2k or lower.
If u get it only at 3.5 or so, i say add Rs 400 more and get the 450W version.
what do u think Sorcerer ??

    lil cheaper here:

^^ See power supplies dont work that way. Any moron can label a 100w psu as a 400w. A good psu based on current standard specs should give more power than the labelled sticker. It varies from brand to brand. If you see the psu guide (rajan1311- i think i gave you the same advice on think digit forums as well) facts are understandable since I have tried my best to put it in layman terms. My experience with itwares is bad- he hides away when it comes to giving a bill and the only reason is because he is into parallel imports. Most of the products that he sells does not have national distributor's sticker and that clearly indicates that warranty will not be honoured here. I have seen many people complaining about him as well.
