Default Hp printer causing delay in windows startup

I want to install Hp on drive other than C:

Whenever i install it in C, it causes delay in windows startup, the IDM icon and internet icon appears after a gap of 1 or 2 minutes after windows has started.

When uninstall the printer, windows loads up quickly without any delay.

That's why i want to try to install the printer in some other drive except the C: (I have windows xp sp3 installedi in C drive)

    Please help

I thought this the only way to sovle it.

Btw why this happens with hp printer, do you have any idea, is this due to registry thing?

Its really very annoying to wait for 2 minutes after windows startup.

This delay is caused due to a service called HP CUE Device Discovery Service which identifies all the newly connected HP devices and configure them to be used with the HP Solution Center program in your computer.

If this is the only HP device you'll use with this PC, then you can disable it from the Services list just like you disable any other service.

    1. Click on the start menu and click on 'Run', and then type 'services.msc' and press the Enter button.
    2. In the Services window, look for HP CUE Device Discovery Service, and double click on it.
    3. You should find something which says 'Startup Type'. Change that to 'Manual'
    4. Click on the 'Apply' button and close all windows.

And, don't forget to stop the process before disabling it.

    That shall help you.
There is no need to worry about this, because it was actually approved by HP Professionals also to be the best method.

    @capri

why dont you remove it from the startup after you install it...
ie type msconfig in the run (win+r) in that go the last tab called as startup there uncheck the HP files...

if you have tried it let me know...!
