    Default Resolving problem with computer

A work colleague computer stopped working a couple of months ago, she started the computer and windows would not load and just keep restarting. She called someone over who she knew to sort it out, but he couldn't there and then and thought there was a problem with the motherboard. So the motherboard was taken and there wasn't anything wrong with it. He checked the computer again and found no other faults and recently the hard drive was changed too!

What could possibly be the problem?

there are many possible sources of problem.

I'd say bad power supply. It can happen independant of wheather a proper UPS is used or not.

I had a similar problem 1 year back. & the problem was found with the motherboard. But here you are saying that the motherboard is fine. You can check the RAM properly. See if the RAM is ok.

Replace the ram if possible, Ram chips have 1-3 year warranty.

Use the utility available at the following link to check ram

Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

But everything else has been checked in the computer itself, well that's what she said!

Should she consider showing the computer to someone else?

It could also be a bad hard disc. Are you sure they replaced the Hard disc ? When it read from the bad sector, it will restart due to file system error. Other possibilities SMPS (Power Supply) or RAM. Increasing the page file size may work. Try Tuneup utilities, it can locate if there is any serious error.

It will be nice to seek help of an expert technician if you are a beginner.

I had a similar problem, but that was due to corrupt video driver. Try to boot in safe mode ???

Also, the does the PC get in to windows and then re boot, or is it during the BIOS loading ?
