    Its one of the first signs that your HDD may be dying.

    HDs die in days. I've seen a brand new (less than 3 month old) die. It was a segate 500GB 7200.7

    run a S.M.A.R.T. test using HDTune software.it should show you if any value is failing(for seagate ignore the spin retry count value of 97 as it will always shown in yellow no matter how new drive is).

    on a slightly positive note, your RAM may have been corrupted. Thankfully testing the ram for faults is far easy. If you are using multiple sticks remove one and run the PC for a few days. If you still have problems try replacing them and see what happens.

    If you are using a singular stick, than use a programme called memtest for diagnosis. google it.

    My RAM did have some problems, i did get many BSODs bcos of the memory.
    I cant change the RAM (its DDR and 2 costly). Plz explain what a CRC is exactly and any ways to avoid such errors ?

    If your RAM is faulty but under warranty you can get it replaced. There are no quick fix solution to ram problems.

    CRC = cyclic redundancy check.

    Do you know a friend from whom you can borrow a ram stick?

    You can try to run your PC with your friends ram stick for a few hours. Try and copy paste large files and see what happens. If nothing happens you will need to get your ram replaced. period.

    Faulty Ram. 99.99% BSODs and other errors are caused by faulty rams.

    Check it out-

    IDE ATA and ATAPI disks use PIO mode after multiple time-out or CRC errors occur
