    Default Icons on Desktop

All of a sudden the icons on my desktop have gone blue. The text at the bottom of the icon now has a blue background, like its been highlighted, but its not.

How do i get rid of this and bring it back to normal?

jiggle the cable that connects the desktop to the monitor.

one time I had this problem with my tv and the cable was loose.

first try what farce said and if there is no joy then slap the monitor twice and it will come back to normal otherwise you can even try to replace the cable which connects CPU tower to monitor

Have you changed the theme of the Computer?

    If not,

Try disabling the desktop icons and then enable it by repeating the following method-

    1. Right-click an empty location on the desktop.
    2. On the shortcut menu, point to Arrange Icons By , then click to select Show Desktop Icons.

If the above steps does not work then try this,

1.Right click on the desktop, select Properties
    2. Then click on the Desktop tab, next click on Customize Desktop, then the Web tab and uncheck everything, that should not be there.

If there is a web address, uncheck that and click on OK.

    Right Click on my computer.
    Goto properties
    Goto Advanced system settings
    Under performance Click settings.
Select Let windows choose best for me.
    Click apply.
    That should do.
    Cheers..

    @Preeti_20

If Active Desktop is activated disable it.
How to Enable or Disable the Active Desktop

    From Google search :
All of a sudden the icons on my desktop have gone blue. The text at the bottom of the icon now has a blue background, like its been highlighted, but its not

Finally I right clicked on the desktop and went into the desktop tag. Then I
    > went into the drop arrow for the colours - it was blue. I clicked on "other"
    > and moved the arrow up to the very top, i.e. "no colour" and all the icons
    > reverted to the previous display; i.e. no coloured box and white letters for
    > the names of the respective sortcuts. Can anyone tell me why this happens?
    > Have I come up with the correct solution (yes I went into visual ... and
    > check the shadow box.)

you use Active Desktop features the opening of the desktop, will
appear this problem. For example, if the background of the desktop or the
use of transparent images or animated GIF images, set to page or desktop
activities, will appear this problem. If the opening of "lock on the
desktop Web project" feature, may also appear this problem.'

    Re:-KB Article No.305117

Yes,you have come up with right solution.
