System fan indicates that there is an issue with the CPU fan. I suggest that you replace it.

 But the BIOS update should be used only if it's specified that it's relevant to the issue.

When fans become old, the bearings have worn out. So they make a lot of noise, especially at startup. Fans are three types:

    a) SMPS fan
    b) CPU fan
    c) Chassis fan

CPU fan and Chassis fan are easily replace-able and not costly also. SMPS fan is not so. If the computer is working fine then you can differ the repairs for some time.
Bearings!! did you just said bearings comeon give me a break! according to me the fans which are run by DC are bush based not on bearings..... and even if they have bearings they will be pretty heavy which they aren't...

If you are sure that fan is the culprit then just unscrew it and place rubber washers and then screw them.....

And do not forget to clean the pc from inside out

I hope this might have helped

Please check your mechanical parts of your system immediately. If any of pc's fan got jammed (even in laptops), then it may cause short circuit and can damage your whole system. The malfunctioning of CPU fan may heat up your system and can damage the Motherboard and CPU.

You can also replace your SMPS fan which will cost you around Rs. 50, otherwise replace the whole SMPS @ Rs. 250~600.

There are several motherboards of PC are coming with PC monitoring software loaded in bios. You can also check the fault and rectify the fault through bios settings.

If your PC's Warranty period is expired then you can check your hard Drive also. Try to unplug the power supply cable and start your PC. If hard disk is causing noise then try to screw it properly and check again with power cable connected to it. If your problem still persist then replace your Hard Disk Drive.
Please also check your CD/DVD tray.

    Also check the PC's speaker.
