Yes, its true, AMD will release 2 new Quad cores at prices at low as Rs5000. For more information, please follow this link:

Currently Intel has no answer for these.

Even if they do get a price cut, it would be a huge one. Currently their cheapest one is about 8-8.5k. That would be almost a 50% price drop. What will they do with their dual core processors ??

Do remember, the Q8200 is a crippled processor.....

if intel does it then i would chill up and buy a quad core but no hope at least till there are 5-core or 6-core processors or more.

Does the quad core heat up more and consume more power?

ya i also think that quad core consumes more electricity but it also gives much.

    quad core is very fast.

nonono, it must be an Asus motherboard, your processor is either Intel or AMD.

This is a very good offer from AMD, I wish they would make it cheaper though. Is there still no counter products from Intel? I really like it whenever some companies are challenging each other, it makes the prices of their products so low.

Well quad cores do require more power (generally). I am having to get a new PSU as i have changed my processor (from E5200 to QX9650)
