Default TV Tuner with LCD

When i went into a store to ask about a TV tuner card, I was told by the shop man that it doesn't work on an TFT/LCD screen!!!!

Why is this, does anyone know?

My friend had brought one and she uses it on her TFT screen, it works fine!

U r bound to use an external TV tuner card ...............
this is b'coz of the fact that the external one doesn't utilise the computers resources at all while in case of internal TV tuner cards they are based on the computer hardware .
thus go for an external TV tuner card and you are done.

I got a typhoon external TV tuner card, but then, i get vertical lines when i connect to my PC, but that may be an isolated problem.
The TV picture quality is very good, i mean, it may not be the best, but is still pretty good. It comes with a remote too. The full package cost me around Rs500.
If you need it preeti, i can just ship it to your castle

Q. Why do you people watch (or need to watch) TV on computer? Nothing wrong. Just asking. I never ever thought of such a thing.

Go for internal TV Tuner if you want to record TV programs. Now a days all internal tuners are coming with windows drivers and applications and very simple to use. External TV tuners for LCD monitors are bit expensive.

No. This is a pure display adapter card.

Well its just the screen, and like i mentioned its a tv tuner thing, which I only thought was external, I would not have anything like that connected to my computer! So computer issues are not related to this!
