Rep Power: 2 | I have XP, Vista, and 7 installed in multiboot. At present I'm using EasyBCD. Vista is the default OS, and gets selected in three seconds at boot time if no changes are made. Now if I want to automate the downloads, for which I use XP, I have to wake up in the middle of the night to turn it on. There are others who use my computer and so they'll either shut down or stand by in Vista. Is there any way so that even if the computer is asleep in Vista or has been shut down (but not unplugged from the main power), it will at a specific time boot into XP, which is not the default OS? I can then configure the scheduled tasks in it. Thanks. |

Rep Power: 3 | don't be too complicated yaar.set ur xp as default OS. no there's no way to make ur pc awake from shut down. to automate ur downloads create two batch files. REFER:http://www.indiabroadband.net/showthread.php?p=154907 then shedule them to run at particular time. google for any free software that can awake ur computer from sleep or standby mode. |

There is something called RTC alarm in BIOS APM(power management section). Set the time and keep the power cord plugged in. For more see the link below. http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...tml#post153503 (NU downloading time) | |

Rep Power: 2 | Well definitely , I also do the same. But I don't think there is any software or scheduler that can be used to turn your PC on at a specific time everyday. You can schedule the dialing, the download, the shutdown etc but only way to turn your PC on automatically is to use RTC. Other ways like keeping your PC in standby can be used but the PC consumes some power in that state also. |

Rep Power: 3 | RTC Alarm is in Power management in advanced boot options if ur hardware supports it. and if ur hardware doesn't support it then try auto power on and shut down... u can awake ur pc from hibernate or sleep mode with this software....but not Shut DOWN |
