Thread: Please suggest a motherboard

1)Please suggest a motherboard compatible with the amd athlon 2 x4 630. I want it to be ddr3 compatible with a blue slot for samsung syncmaster crt monitor, 2 ps-2 ports for keyboard and mouse.
2)i also need a budget cabinet and psu unit compatible with that motherboard with decent cooling(if necessary i can buy fans for it separately). The cabinet has to accomodate 2 harddisks, a dvd writer. Budget - 7.5k for all.
3) will the processor i mentioned cost more than 5.5k in calcutta??

with such a low budget i dont think there is any way you can fit a DDR3 system. Go for a decent DDR2 system, its more than enough for you needs.I will check up about that 630, seems a bit unlikely at Rs5.5k. Will check it out.

Thanks a lot. If i take a ddr2 system then what motherboard should i buy?? It has to have AM2+/AM3 compatibility for the athlon 2 x4 630. but what about the cabinet and psu?? And i hope you understood that the 7.5k is only for motherboard and an outer cabinet

Will chk out bro, there are some good biostar 785G mobos that you can buy for Rs3.5k. Cabinets are totally up to your choice. Do you want a big gaming type or what is your taste ?

1)BIOSTAR TA785G3 AM3
2)MSI GF615M-P33 AM3
do you have any more in your mind? and please check up on my selections and advise whether i should go for them or not. Later on i will upgrade my os to a 64 bit one so i will add a 2gb stick and a graphics card so that my pc lasts for a long time. So based on this can you make any suggestions
Well i basically need a cabinet just to hold the things mentioned on my first post. i do not need a hifi gaming cabinet. a standard or a budget cabinet with decent cooling will do. Recommend some company like zebronics etc, if you cannot suggest any model.
And do you think the athlon 2 x4 630 will come at 5,5k??

I think the biostar is a better option. The processor will be hard to find at that rate. Look for the 620 instead of the 630.What kind of graphics card will you buy ?? Entry level/Mid range/High end and we can decide the cabinet accordingly.

That is a good idea..I having the same dilemma with gsg9...and been reading all your responses here and its been very helpful to me to decide on which should choose or must consider on buying..

I am not interested in purchasing a graphics card right now. After one year or so i will upgrade to a 4gb ddr3 ram system. Later i might just change my proc to a phenom 2 quadcore or purchase a good graphics card. That is my plan. So according to it will you say that the biostar motherboard i selected is ok? or would you suggest any other within my budget?? And then what cabinet will you recommend??
I think that the TA785-A3 Motherboard would be better. But is it available here??
