When building a PC for such a low budget, you really need to be careful in making your choices. The platform needs to be upgradeable and should be able to cater all your needs without any compromise.
This PC can be mainly used for:
- Checking mails
- Watching movies
- Downloading
- Music
- Casual Gaming
- General Office applications
So here are the components i have selected for such a build:
Processor: AMD Athlon 2 245 (dual core, 2.9GHz, 2MB L2 cache)
This is a great little beast, really quick and cheap (price wise). Low power consumption and temperatures are also its strengths. Price : Rs3000
Motherboard:Biostar A785GE : A reliable board with good features. Among them, the most prominent is its IGP, which is the ATI HD4200. Its a really good IGP , you can play old games like the original farcry at good settings on this. Also helps decoding bluray movies. The board offers both DVI as well as VGA outputs. Price : Rs 3600
Memory : 2GB (2GB x1) DDR2 800MHz memory Corsair XMS2 : Rs2400
Hard Disk: 500GB Western Digital : 500GB is fine for most, for those who feel they need more, you can just add more when you want. Price Rs:2500.
Optical Drive: As suggested before, pick any you are comfortable with. Price: Rs 1100.
Cabinet: iball piano series : I do like the finish of this cabinet, looks all shinyBut it attracts dust and is a finger print magnet ! Comes with a 250W PSU, enough to power our PC. Price : Rs 2200
Monitor: BenQ 22" G2220HD LCD : Really good value for money monitor, it has a Full HD resolution (1920x1080) and 5ms response time. Price: Rs8000.
Total comes to around Rs23,000. You still need to buy the OS and keyboard mouse ...
Hope this would have helped you.
Cheers !
