Thread: The ATI 5670 Graphics card !!

The ATI 5670 Graphics card has been released by ATI/AMD. Its for the mainstream market and from the initial reviews i have read and i think its a winner !!



Its got 400 shader and a 128 bit memory interface. The core clock is 775 Mhz and memory clock is 1000MHz DDR5 (4000MHz DDR). Built on 40nm , this will really have class leading power consumption numbers.

As i had predicted here (ATI 56xx series) its performance is on par with the 8800GT. You may argue that its unfair to compare a new card with a card that is 2 generations old, but get this, this is a mainstream card and for the price, its just awesome !!!

The price, well its suppose to be less than a $100. I am guessing that it will hit retail around $90-$100. You do not require a 6-pin PCIe connector so many of you can try it with your old PSU (not really recommended).

Little more on performance, it can play most of your games at medium-high quality and up to resolutions of 1650x1080 and maybe even at 1080p without much issues. Depends on the game really. But it will provide you good value for money, no doubt !!

Should come to india in a few weeks, expect a price tag of Rs 5500 odd. Will keep you guys updated.

i have a question: Is it better than the Geforce 9800GT and Radeon 5770????


Another question is: will i be able to play games like GTA 4,NFS Shift in high resolution without any slowdown in game?

Its is as fast as the 9800GT, much slower than a 5770.

You can easily play those, but you cant put AA. GTA4 depends a lot on CPU. It needs a Quad core.

Just wait for the 5830 and see....the 5750s and 5770 are a LOT cheaper now... In bangalore the 5770 is Rs8500, down from Rs11000. Have not asked about the 5750s.

5850 is awesome, but still out of your price range.

also if u get this for 8.5K then also u may need a PSU.
