Default ATI 5670 Graphics Card released !

A few days ago, AMD released this great little product in to the mainstream market. The Card has 400 shaders, core clock of 775Mhz and a memory speed of 1000MHz GDDR5 (4000MHz DDR). It does NOT require a 6 pin pcie connector for power and so you don't really need a high end PSU for it.

It provides great performance, it competes with the 9800GT(8800GT) and is faster when overclocked. It is good enough to let you play almost all the latest games at medium-high settings at medium resolution(say 1680x1050).

Price, its a sub $100 card so it will be priced around Rs5500 here in india. Its just a little cheaper than a 4850 but then you may not have to upgrade your PSU.

Overall its a great card for HTPCs and for budget gamers.

yes this will fit your budget if you don't win the contest

It depends really, i will still suggest that you buy a newer PSU as that is always good, have a look at the PSU thread, i have recommended some good one there, take any of those and it will be enough to power this card.

But then for Just Rs1000 more you can get a much more powerful ATI 4850.

Just tell me what is the resolution you will be playing at ?

but then 4850 is reaching EOL and this card has good features and very low power consumption. Go for this (5670) mate, else win a few contests and get a ATI 5830 which will release end of Jan.

A Ferrari is way faster than a Honda civic !

they are 2 totally different products. The 5670 costs far less than a 5750.

This will be a good card for you.
You will not be able to play games like crysis with max AA and highest settings, but at medium all will be fine.

What is the rest of your config ?

    This PSU should be enough:

If you are on a budget, and demand the best performance for the money, the ATI Radeon HD 5670 is your best choice. If however, you can spring $30 more dollars, you will find that the Radeon HD 5750 leaps ahead of the Radeon HD 5670 quite a bit and offers a much better gameplay experience.

Price of the card have fallen. It is now Rs 5500 for 512MB version and Rs5800 for 1GB version. Both come with a non reference cooler (its a better one than the standard one).
