We are yet to see the first Nvidia Graphics Card that supports DX11 and here, ATI has launched its full range of DX11 cards, with the ATI HD5450 being its low end/entry level card.
This card comes with 80 Stream porcessors and is equipped with GDDR3 or DDR2 memory on a 64bit bus with a 512MB and 1GB variant. Hence, this graphics card is definitely not a Gamer's choice. It has a different purpose.
It basically is a replacement for your Onboard GPU. This features full DX 11 support and can provide great Windows 7 aero experience. For those who need multi monitor support, this is a great option as it supports up to 3 monitors using ATI eye infinity technology. WIth low power consumption, its a great product for offices.
Its great for multimedia too. For those who like HTPC setups, this is a perfect choice as this card supports HDMI 1.3a and comes with Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio for the ultimate media PC. It also supports video acceleration, hence this will take load off the CPU while you play Bluray movies. It comes with a passive heatsink so it is dead silent.
With a pricetag of $52 for the 512MB version and $65 for the 1GB version, its a good choice. I feel the 512MB version is a better choice for most users. Powercolor has come out with a DDR2 version of the card that costs $42.
