arey yaar........i hope you did not buy this motherboard...

You have made a silly mistake. The motherboard Intel DP55WG is based on P55. It is socket LGA 1156. The core i7 920 is socket LGA 1366. Hence, it will not fit !! DO NOT PAIR THESE TWO

If you want to use the core i7 920 then use X58 motherboards. A good budget motherboard is the MSI X58 PRO-E. Its around Rs10500.

None of the X58 motherboards will have onboard graphics. Why will you want onboard graphics on a high end system ?

What are your needs anyways ?

    ok here is the deal.....

You would require a professional graphics (Nvidia Quadro series or ATI FireGl) card for stuff like maya. Those graphics cards cost a bomb and i have never used them. So, what i would suggest is that you go for a very cheap graphics card so that you can get the video output, or, if you wish to spend what you have got, we can choose a graphics card that is Rs10,000 odd. But you (in your case your Gf) will not see its benifits.

Also, with a Core i7 920, you should either use 3GB, 6GBor 12GB of DDR3 RAM as it uses triple channel memory.

There are ways to convert your normal graphics card into a professional but i will not recommend that as it is a pretty tricky process.

You can get a Nvidia GT 240 maybe the CUDA support will come in handy in the future. Should cost you Rs5000 odd. As for PSUs, you can get a corsair 550VX for around Rs 5800. Have a look at my PSU thread in the forum for more options.

Man i'm very confused ...my friend suggested me nvidia xfx 9800 gt ddr3.. he is studying animation..

is there no other option in my budget which will fulfill the needs ?? ..i want to buy something good, so that i dont have to bother about upgrading it atleast for 2 years.

i guess i should tell you one more thing.. my exp. with gfx cards has always been very bad..the first one i bought (5 yrs ago) was nvidia 128 mb ..it got screwed in 3 months.
the 2nd one was gecube x1550 ..it didnt work from the 1st day (red lines allover the screen) ..tried to get it replaced ..but nothing worked out ..its still lying around somewhere..4600 bucks down the drain..
thats why i said lets cut to the chase ..i didnt want to bore you with my story..

Hey you didnt comment about Intel DX58SO..
    Thanks

hey techgod thanks for replying ..XFX X58i Motherboard supports my processor but ASUS P77P55D Pro is not compatible with i7 920. It is socket LGA 1156. The core i7 920 is socket LGA 1366. i made the same mistake earlier (rajan corrected me).. it is based on P55 chipset not X58..

    Check out Rajan's thread..
Difference between Core i7 and Core i7 ?

nice to know that you totally understood what i meant.

anyways, trust me, you will not feel the difference as the software would not really be optimised for our normal graphics cards. Hence it will really not help you much. The GT220 is a rebrand of the 8800GT i think so its not too bad.

As for the XFX board, why do you want to spend valuable money on features that and I have no clue about lol.
