Default Help needed regarding UPS & Graphic card

Hi friends I have two queries one is with a UPS and second about graphic card

    1) I have double battery UPS from microtek its been quite long since I have been using it but now it has stopped giving backup as soon as there is a power cut it switches off. Now I presume that its the battery and its probably time to change them but can anybody tell me if there could be any other problems so that I dont end up buying battery when i dont need them. and also if I have to change can I use a single battery instead of two batteries (the UPS uses 2 batt's)

    2) I have just purchased a HP G62 laptop and wanted to know about Intel HD Graphics. Can I play high end games with it as it claims to have 1.7GB memory.

    Thanks in advance

I would suggest that you get a APC UPS as they have pretty decent quality and service, the downside is the higher price tag.

As for the second question, answer is no, you cant play most high end games at very high settings with you Intel HD graphics, there is a lot more to a graphic cards performance than just the memory.

well actually I was thinking that it would no point to invest on whole UPS again wouldn't it be apt to just get battery changed.

and damn shud have asked question abt HD graphics earlier...just bought a HP G62 laptop with 4GB RAM wonder wt am I gonna do with that ram without gaming...

the G62 is a good laptop my friend, even if you would have asked here, there are very limited options for a good laptop anyways.

Well, cant really say much about the battery issue. Generally it works out fine when you change the battery, but sometimes the issue is something else. Ask a technician to check it out and he may direct you better.

Battery actually costs you the major chunk... Check for the warranty period in case you missed taking that into account.. And more the batteries, more the power and backup time..

If you are planning to replace your UPS the the best would be a APC UPS Backup BR800 (two batteries) costs about Rs 5400/-.

I had a APC (single battery) UPS BE650 (Rs 3500/-) for two years and later upgraded to a BR800.

The BR800 has 30 minutes of standby and the BE650 has 10-15 minutes of standby.

It may be expensive but it is worth it.

But if you want to replace the batteries and retain your present UPS,it is better to buy and a Exide batteries, which will give you longer battery life, compared to other brands(but again may be expensive compared to other brands).
