    It would be wise to go with an AMD setup. You have DDR2 memory ? How much is it (in GB or MB) ?

    @kartikoli

    The combination given by you is not good, but i too will suggest you to go for AMD.

    core i3's are sad dual core processors. I would stay away from them.

    With your budget,you can get a nice AMD setup, DDR3 does not have any performance benefits anyways.

    Get a Phenom 2 555BE and a Biostar 785G Mobo with 4GB DDR3 RAM, all will come under 11k, unlock the Phenom 2 555 into a quadcore @ 3.2Ghz and enjoy.

    There are plenty of other options, just that they are a tad expensive. With DDR3, it actually may come up to 13-14k, you fine with that ?

    Wait till AMD launches their 6core processor or go with Phenom II 555 BE and go with Asus mobo, bec i dono why all r saying Amd processor r good with Asus mobo ( like intel cpu with intel mobo )
    Review all the selected Processor and mobo before u buy..

    Best is go for Ausu with AMD...

    Note:

    Note that the Processor meets all the requirement that it need on the mobo ( eg HT. 3.0 etc etc )....

    Bye TC Have a nice day..

    Spend some money on the mobo and it may save ur future expense on spending on new cpu than the mobo....
