Question How to use the Remote Desktop Connection Feature on Vista???

I have read about Remote Desktop Connection Feature which is present in all the Windows OS by Default but could not use it till now.
Its Located at Start>>Programs>>Accessories>>Remote Desktop Connection.
All I require is the proper steps to use it and establish a connection.

For Example I know my Friends IP Address so how exactly can I make a connection and control his PC through his Desktop?(with his knowledge, not hacking)
What settings and changes I will have to make in my PC and in his PC?
    Please Help.

Whenever I need remote support or need to give remote assistance, I use teamviewer. It is an excellent program with global acceptability and very simple and easy to use. Try it.

    Downloaded and Installed the software.

So I just have to send my ID and password mentioned in "Wait for Session" to the PC user I wish to connected and enter his ID in "Create Session" Right?
Once I have connected I will be asked for the password which I have receaved from the user I wish to connect.
After this we both will be able to see each other Desktops and control it too.
    Right?

Please correct me if I am wrong.

All over this TeamViewer Software is only 2.69MB and it looks great.

Default How to use the Remote Desktop Connection Feature on Vista???

Hi, you need to get her ip address. Plug her IP address into the Remote Desktop software that you have on Windows and it will let you connect to her machine. Now, there are a few things you need to be concerned with. When you connect to her machine, she will get logged out. As with all versions of Windows, only one person can be logged in at a time. Using Remote Desktop, she won’t be able to see what you're doing, she'll just see a login screen that says the machine’s currently in use. Also, make sure you get her WAN ip address, not her LAN ip address. If she gives you a 192.168.x.x ip address, you won’t be able to connect to her without first allowing Remote Desktop in her router. And. I’m spent.

    Thanks!!
