Cool Phenom II X6 : $200 six core processor ?

AMD will soon release a new 6 core processor and it will be branded Phenom II X6 and will become the company's flagship series. It will also have X4 versions with 2 cores disabled (unlockable ? maybe!).

There are romours suggesting that the X6 phenoms will start with a clock speed of 2.6GHz and will have 6MB L3 cache,512KB/core L2 cache. It will have a TDP of just 95W.It is said that the chip will be priced at around $200.

Considering that Intels 6 Core processor 5x more (980X is $999, but would be lot faster too) its really great for consumers.

You may be thinking, whats the point, not many softwares can use all the six cores ? It would be a waste, I rather get a decent Quad ! But, AMD has found a solution just for that! They have got a technology called Turbo core, its similar to intels turbo boost, it basically switches off cores that are not active (not being used by the software) and increases the clock speed of the remaining cores by as much as 500MHz !

These processors are due next month, man, I just cant wait for these !! AMD FTW!!

And i think so it will be supporting 128bit architecture..
because AMD and ATI are in ahead for better computing...

Windows 8 is a 128bit os and may be AMD is going to launch their 1st 128bit processor...

think so a Step up from 64bit os and more memory support and how knows wat all will be there....
But am sure tat win7 was a test os and win8 will be its replacement...

AMD ATI are working on their Physx support and may be this 6Physical core procssy may support cpu Physx than GPU physx....
Corei7 have 4Physical and 4 logical cores, so This Phenom x6 will be a great replacement for them...

The CPU no matter how many cores it is , is much much weaker than GPUs. ATI are coming up with their own version of Physx, lets see how that goes.

64bit OS support up to 2TB of RAM IIRC, why will we need more ? Vista was a test OS for W7 i feel...
