I am planning to have phenom x6 in some time with ddr2 ram since ddr2 is still cheaper. Will there be any bottlenecking?

I think that you must search from different sites and you can get good idea from those sites specially the IT related.....so what i suggest you is that just go to the sites where you can have good information......
As per my side if you are a gamer means you will fell some increase in Performance with DDr3 ram and Phenom x6 on a 800x Chipset..
If you have a 780+ chipset with ddr2 ram means you wont feel that much difference..
Use 1066mhz Ddr2 ram on AM3 scoket cpu. As they can perform well in it..
DDR2 production has ceased. So expect a steep rise in price. DDR3 prices should be relatively stable, thought memory prices are expected to go up!! I guess it would be better off if you buy DDR3 RAM
As bonda pointed out... Buy a 800x chipset!!
If you are going for DDr2 ram with Phenom II x6 CPU means get the 1066Mhz in Ddr2 ram..
And try getting corsair series ram for OCing the Ram for few more mhz...
As AM3 socket cpu supports 1066mhz rams..
Get 790x chipset motherboard for ddr2 ram or go with 800x chipset with ddr3 combination...
^Not really.....most software are not that memory intensive these days....also DDR2 is pretty expensive now, almost the same price as DDR3....
AMD has Backward support not like Intel does..
So having DDr2 is ok for now and if your looking for some high end system build, go with DDr3 support based motherboard and CPU...
All the AMD CPU that are available in the Market till now support both DDr2 and DDr3
I'm using the combination, no problem.
