check out if your sound card is inserted properly and all connections are proper. Also try to take out sound card and test if u get audio from on-board audio jack.

If u can then take your sound card in your friend's home and test on his computer if it works properly or not!!

You may also lead to technical help.go to a qualified engineer and get it repaired.

Try MY computer-> Manage->Device Manager-> Sounds And Devices.

Check if any caution sign indicating a problem exists...if so reinstall the drivers...

if this doesnt work try mebbe a linux live CD and chk if its an OS issue...

if it still doesnt work... contact the service center...

do u have Intel D946GZis board?

I'd also faced the same problem but my onboard sound had went kaput and I got no replacement from Intel, they said its a physical damage , so I just added a sound card.
