Default How much time required to transfer file from Lan to Lan?

If I transfer 700Mb file or 1Gb file from Lan to Lan then how much time is required? if
    1) Both are 1000Mbps of LAN? and if
    2) Both are 100Mbps LAN?

Time is also depend on length of wire?
or How you experiencing in transferring file from LAN to LAN?

Please I want ans to all these ques, because i want to purchase a lan of Realtek and they r telling original Realtek does not come, only chipset is available.
I want D-Link with Realtek chip but that also not available.
I want to use with BSNL 500c plan 2mbps, and sometimes
want to transfer 4GB file like a speed of a pen drive-is it possible???

    Suggest me what to do???

I think no one has any idea about this

If both the LAN are at the same speed ....
then it depends upon the upload speed....
one LAN will be uploading and the Other LAN will be downloading...

transferring file from LAN to LAN is not any new thing...

u cannot send any file from the LAN with a speed of pen-drive....

if u want such type of speeds... then u should require a LAN speed of minimum 16Mbps connection......

LAN to LAN , didn't get you, you mean from a desktop to another or between laptops? if you just have 2 devices use a crossover cable, should give you good speeds (1-2 MBps).

1 Gbps LAN should give you a better performance and not much costlier either..

and regards length not much performance difference..( though theoretically should be more lossy)

Now a days motherboards come with integrated LAN cards, if yours doesn't have it, go for a separate LAN card

any LAN card card would do for that its just 125 KBps

It all depends on the strength of the communications network you are using.
