Default A Good Q. on Laptop and Desktop

Power cuts now are a menace,

Now the question arises that either the desktop should be upgraded or Laptop should be purchased?
Desktop up gradation means that More Inverters and Ups should be connected!

    Budget across 20K
What is more favorable,UPS or Inverter?
There should be no interference of power in between,it should provide long time run,say 3 hours minimum!

Why should desktop upgrade require more inverter or UPS? A typical desktop consumes about 400W max. Unless one is upgrading to a server class machine (multiple CPUs, redundant disks, redundant power supplies, additional NICs, etc.), the power equation does not change.

For a computer, UPS is recommended.

Buy a netbook. The one from Acer comes at Rs. 16,000 with 6 hours back up.

But Just4kix,if power cut is at very large pace, then how much time a ups would run?

dont use inverter for the desktop purpose...
it will not give you the pure ac voltage which is required...

    better go to Dell Laptop..
Dell laptops perform equally as Sony WAIO, LENEVO and HP laptops...
now the price of Dell laptops is around 32k...
    Dual Core Processor...
    3GB DDR3 ram...
    320GB Hard disk....
    15" screen...
    ..
    recently my friend bought this...
    performance is very good...
