If your OS is corrupt, you can simply put a Linux live CD (I use Knoppix) and boot from it. You can now plug in an USB drive and move all data to it or another drive.

All you need to do is simply put the live CD in the CD drive and restart the system. Why format the whole PC ? You can simply format the drive in which OS is installed.

    Hi
    Sorry to hear....

Like u were asking me regarding driver update in other thread ....
was it because of that (did it happen after your driver updation)
maybe your Graphic card is outdated .... .....

and in future if it happens better
take out the Graphic Card and start the PC after some interval.

    1. Do NOT have just one "C" drive with everything on it. Even if you have only one hard disk, partition it to at least two partitions, C and D drive. Make sure that all your documents, photos, music, everything except Windows and Programs is on your D Drive.

    2. Always have another, backup copy of your data somewhere else, on external disk, CD/DVD, etc.

    3. (advanced) Make an "Image" backup of your C drive to another hard disk. Then you can restore your Windows and all programs/setings.

    4. If you can possibly get access to the net on another computer ask advice before re-installing Windows.

Sorry for your experience. Many of us learnt these lessons the hard way by loosing stuff.

    Here

KNOPPIX - Live Linux Filesystem On CD

It is very simple. Simply insert the Live CD in your CD drive and restart the system. It will automatically end up in the desktop just like Windows. The Knoppix desktop is almost same as Windows.

My windows recovery suite had two main tools: DriveImage XML and Bart-PE.

Bart-PE is, essentially, a bootable Windows DVD. You need to make your own; you need to have a Microsoft Windows DVD to do this.

Drive Image XML makes an image backup of a partition. Obviously you need to have enough room on another partition or an external drive to accomodate this.

It is a certain amount of hassle to learn about it and prepare the DVD, but consider how much hassle it is to re-install Windows, re-install service packs, reinstall updates, re-install your software, redo all your settings and so on and so on and so on.

EVen if you have to re-install Windows (totally screwed MBR, or something. Heard of a new trojan, yesterday, that screws up the MBR) it is still quicker to do that, then restore your Image on to of it, than to load your updates, software, stuff and more stuff.

You'll feel really pleased with yourself the day you need it and find that, yes, it works

Open your cabinet and clean inside it.. maybe because of too much dust...
check your fan speed.. if its not working properly cpu can reach above critical temp.
if you windows is not genuine, this can happen.

my computer was restarting too over and over again on startup,so I opened the cpu and checked if all the fans were working properly and found that the smps fan was not working. I changed the smps and its back to normal now.

    I fear effected by lightening?
    if so
only a repair person can handle that.
last time I had this non booting issue, I had to change my motherboard
(Intel 845GVSR) to a new version (Intel 945GCNL)as given by them under partial warranty by taking a small amount.

Another occasion, as clearly pointed, hell of dust inside the cpu heat-sink fins.

Instead of url you can send as text , the same information, perhaps, like this
indiabroadband.net as anyone understands to add www.

You cannot increase the quality of video no matter which software you use. It need to be done at source.

To post links, try hxxp://domain.com instead of http://domain.com.
