Default URGENT HELP NEEDED IN BUYING UPS -tricky problem

hello friends..!!! i want to purchase a ups Please guide me..!! first let me tell you about my power supply

i dont exactly live in a bad area. its just that people in my area use more power than they are supposed to do..!! like 3 a/c in 4 kw connection. as a result i get very poor voltage of around 120 - 150 in morning and 70 - 100 at night.
i have installed a bluebird stabilizer of input 90-300 v to output 195 - 245 v. but i am concerned with fluctuation. i get around avg 210 v as output of stabilizer. there is a lot of fluctuation in my input. when i en-quired from stabilizer dealer he said the stabilizer has automatic relay that adjusts the voltage from 195 to 245 automatically but it cannot control fluctuation . whenever there is a fluctuation my tube light blinks it cannot control that. now the main part

i have an old system p4 with 17 inch monitor around 5 years old. and my smps is 450v

i purchased a microtek 625 v ups heritage gold . whenever there is fluctuation in my voltage the ups shifts to battery mode but the my pc restarts. i called microtek they said their ups cannot work when there is fluctuation . they tried everything they could. i fought with them a bit and got my money back. now i want to know where is the problem. its ok to shift ups to battery mode but it should not make my system restart. otherwise what is the use.! if i plug my pc without ups it works very well if there is no fluctuation without ups. now if there is any knowledgable person . please guide me where is the problem. and which ups should i get.

my requirement is MY SYSTEM SHOULD NOT RESTART. IT SHOULD KEEP ON WORKING.

please guide me as i have to purchase it tommorow only....!!! if i have posted it at a wrong place please move it right place...!!!
    please help >>>>>>>>>> HELP <<<<<<<<<<<<

that is some major fluctuation bro...are you sure its 100v? all you electrical appliances could get busted....A stabilizer cant really help if it happens too often...

Changing the UPS might not help, because even my system reboots and the fluctuations are nowhere near that....

All I can suggest it try to offload the UPS, connect the monitor, speakers, printer directly to the mains (stabilizer in ur case) and the computer to the UPS , see if it still reboots.....slim chance of this working, but hey, you got nothing to lose...

    Default Stabilized voltage and current

You have not mentioned the capacity of your bluebird stabilizer. Are you supporting/stabilizing the electrical supply of the whole house on it? In most tier II and III cities in India there can be heavy fluctuation like somebody using the same phase for welding (say) and that work is mostly done at night.

Let me tell u what I have done and u may get ideas from there. I do not use an UPS at all. I have a 800VA Luminous UPS-cum-inverter with a Luminous 150 amp battery. In UPS mode the inverter's range is between 180V-240v. Anything less or beyond the device will switch to battery mode. In normal non-UPS mode the range is 120v-250v. I put it on UPS mode when I am using my PC. The inverter is connected to light circuit breakers and not to power (for fridge, washing machine, TV, dessert coolers, etc.) circuit breakers. Between the inverter and the mains light points only circuit breaker I have 2.5KVA (like used for ACs) instant 90V-300V stabilizer that gives an output of 210v +/-10%. If there is delay in giving the output by the stabilizer for those few milliseconds current switches over to battery mode of the inverter. The assembled stabilizer also busts spike.

Keep in mind that one should have proper earthing at home. In an effective earthing the voltage must not exceed 4v-5v. Keep a check on that.

When on inverter we see to it that we do not exceed load of more than 700 watts. This is enough to power a couple of ceiling fans and a few CFL lights along with my PC, external BSNL modem/router and amp. My laser printer is not connected to the inverter.

The Luminous batter of 150 amp lasts for more than two years and costs Rs7500 but there is a discount of around Rs1500 for returning old used battery. So net cost Rs6000. We also experience frequent power cuts during summer and rainy seasons.

Power supplies of PCs in India can take a certain amount of fluctuation and also certain level of heat and humidity. Keep track of the same by installing for free Speccy from Piriformis dot com

    All the best.
