    Lightbulb Assembling a PC

I want to assemble a PC by myself. Currently i just want a good cpu(i5)+mobo combo(Intel preferred) on which i can install a GPU and upgrade it with i7 later when my budget allows me.
I am a mid level gamer and wants to play games like sniper ghost warrior and battlefield 3. I am also interested in Video editing.

Suggest me the model of mobo and i5 cpu which i shud buy.
My budget is 35000. Also tell me preferred brand of Ram, HDD.
Tell me if its better to use AMD in place of intel for gaming and video editing.

    Thanks in advance.

    Intel Core i5 2500k 11700
    MSI Z68A GD55 B3 10192
    Gskill Ripjaws X F3-12800CL9S-4GBXL 1650
seagate or WD your choice but keep in mind due to floods in thailand hard disk prices have more than doubled so try to buy a low capacity hard disk if you think you can manage for ~6 months.

Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

    no...

Also, if you can wait a bit for the SB-E to release, these existing chips might get cheaper...

X58 model is outdated as it was meant for 1st generation core i series.its socket type is 1366 & you can only fit oldest core i7 processor in this board.latest generation core i sandybridge series needs socket 1155.

i already gave my suggestion in earlier post.if you want cheaper option then ask here again.intel boards are only recommended if you have a low budget.they are not recommended for high end processors.

dude, i would suggest you some generic configuration which you can work with as i am playing battle field3 , cod mw3, and waiting for batman new arkham city.

its your graphics card and ram that are important when you buy a gaming budget pc.

    i would suggest ::

    >quad core (i5,i7) above 3.0 Ghz processor
    >motherboard as required
    >Ram 4GB or above, with atleast 1333Mhz bus speed...DDR3 or better
    >Graphics card Nvidia GTX560 or better.
    >Power supply unit atleast 500 Watts (go for VIP gold)
    >Harddisk at 10000RPM , go for 1TB Hitachi or sea-gate only
    >buy good keyboard (like TVS Gold)

My configuration 1 year old ::
-Core i5 760 (1st gen) (speed 2.8 to 3.3 GHz and can be OCed upto 3.8Ghz)
-4GB DDR3 kingston ram with lifetime warranty.
-nvidia 9800GT (1GB, palit made, low power) graphics card
    -1TB hdd
    -400Watts VIP GOLD POWER SUPPLY
    -viewsonic 19 inch lcd
    -logitech keyboard + mouse
    -DVD writer.

as your budget is around 35K, i would suggest you buy a media series intel motherboard , spend more on graphics card and power unit

avoid generic psu brands like VIP.there is a reason why a generic brand 600W PSU cost less than 1000 while a corsair 430CXV2 cost 2000.you only get what you pay for.you can still run your system on a generic psu but then it all depends on your luck.if you are lucky you can get away with no problems for years but if unlucky you can get a dead mobo/hard disk/gfx card within weeks.

P.S.10000rpm hard disk is one of the biggest waste of money.btw 300GB WD velociraptor 10000rpm costs ~8500 now!
