Thread: Upgrading 4 year old PC, need sugestion.

Hi guys my PC specs are as follows-
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz
1 GB RAM(expandable upto 16 GB)
128 MB intel onboard Graphics
450 W PSU

I am gonna upgrade my PC. I am thinking about getting a 2GB RAM(thus total of 3 GB) and a graphics card.

My budget for the card is Rs. 5500-6000. I don't wanna upgrade my PSU. I will play games at a resolution of max 1280 x 1024. However i want to run other effects(antialiasing, fog, smoke etc at full.) Please suggest a card (NVIDIA ONLY) that meets my needs..

Mention your mother board model and Operating system ( xp/win7 32 bit/64 bit)
DDr2 Ram 2GB stick is expensive .

you can buy one stick 4GB DDR3 or 2 X 2GB DDR3 if your config can handle it.
What is your power supply ?(psu)

before you go to graphic card,check whether your power supply and mother board can handel what models of graphic cards?

i don't know what my motherboard model is as i got my PC assembled from a shop. However when i open CPU-ID it says model is Lakeport and chipset is Intel i945G. Is it written on the motherboard..? if yes tell me where so i can open my cabinet and tell you...

I am running XP 32 bit and i will keep running XP only(for performance)..

I have an ATX cabinet of a company called "Hytech". The PSU is 450W and is of the same company..
