intel had launched pro quad processor which has imaginary 4 processors in a single processor! recent product, intel core 2 duo has 2 processors with 2 worker each(means it's also 4). dont be confused.

Which is better out of the new one and core2duo?
I am using the core2duo processor and would never choose anything else.
Right now i am using AMD Athlon and i am planing to change it to intel as i have a little over heating problem with it and i also did a little research and founf that all AMD processors have over heating problems.
Hello there,
may bee iam wrong but the Dual Intel® Quad-Core Xeon with 4 Cores each is not so new as you think. We use it at our Dedicated Servers (Dell Power Edge 2950) since March :-)

I love this.
People seem to think AMD's current dominance over Intel is going to last forever. No one remembers when the Pentium 4 blew the pants off of the Athlon XP, though. Just when the Athlon 64 won against the Pentium 4.
I would like to go with Intel. I had been using Intel processor for a long time and i am very much satisfied with there performance and i am sure that AMD would not be able to compete Intel in next decade.

i wonder how many pros will we b using after 10 yrs !!!
Quad cores are already outdated ...Intel is going to release a 6 core version (devoloped in India) and is already on the way to realesing an 8 core version ...will open a new thread detailing it out ....
The new Core i7 processors will be launched near October end for desktops. They are based on the new Nehalem architecture which brings back hyper threading technology from pentium 4. It is processor with 4 cores and 8 threads and provides more than 30% improvement when compared to quad core platform. Apparently it is not for gaming. Intel will be releasing 3 processors at around $ 280, $550 and an extreme edition for $999. $280 is 2.66 ghz I think
This seems to be a better processor with high performance up to date.I am waiting for using such hight performing processors.
