OK, But Still confuse between "tata sky" & "airtel digital tv"
sorry, it's confusion between "Dish TV" & "Airtel Digital TV"
Go for DishTV. It is way cheaper and quality/service is also decent.
Guys, i still have that good ole cable TV. I am charged Rs 150 for Rs50 extra for an extra TV connection. Is it worth upgrading to a DTH ?? I have a 32" Full HD LCD and a 42" HD ready TV (2 years old). Would i see a significant change in quality? I did not start a new thread as this thread is anyways about the Best DTH.
Channels i cant miss are : ESPN, STAR Sports , Neo cricket, discovery, HBO , Zcafe , CNN IBN
Channels my family cant miss are : Star Plus (bleh !) , Colors (irritating !), Star one, NDTV
Here are the main reasons why I switched to DTH inspite of the higher cost:
There are a few others too.
- All channels having crystal clear clarity especially in terms of video
- Today cable TV is digital and things may be different. But three years ago, we never used to get consistent clarity on all channels
- I like watching Discover/AP/NatGeo. The cable guy always used to put them on UHF with snowy picture and Hindi language.
- Yeah. I was exactly as SRK portrayed on the DishTV ad.
- Freedom from arbitrary changes in channels
- The cable guy used to change channels arbitrarily. Channels used to appear and disappear because the cable company did not pay dues (remember ESPN/Star Sport row with cable providers)
- Channels used to be sorted randomly. Till today one channel was one frequency, tomorrow different.
- Lots of useless channels because the cable guy had to cater to people from all communities.
- Ensuring that I can watch TV (even during power outages)
- In those days, we used to have power outages for 3 hours daily but scheduled at different times in different areas.
- So if in my house, I did not have power from 12 PM to 3 PM, the cable provider did not have power from 3 PM to 6 PM. A six hour TV outage.

Preity Good information...
Request inputs for the updated on new genration DTH with HDMI and interoperatability(Switch to any service provider with the same set-up box), their buying cost and installation, etc.
By the way I required latest research on the Best DTH, as I am new buyer.
Can any one update the DTH provider name, channel list, purchase price & monthly chages. That will easy to everyone to choose.
