M Sebastian, managing director, WorldSpace - India and Middle East, says, "Non-availability of terrestrially augmented satellite radio services in India that enable satellite radio service in automobiles is purely due to regulatory hurdles. If that is cleared, we can roll-out the same for the Indian consumers in the next eight to ten months."

Good news! Do they have plans for the satellite radio service as well?

This is very old news (May, 2009). Worldtel has now folded up operations from India.

Even if the service was available, this would have meant addition of satellite receiver, external antenna, etc. in the car. This would sometimes spoil the look of the car.
