Thread: Please help me chose a service provider

I am currently using Sun Direct ...but after some very crappy after sales support i have decided to change the provider


I was just going thru all these threads here and now i am like this > :cursing: <

i would appreciate some help with choosing an alternate provider

i have currently shortlisted TATA sky and Dish TV


1. How are their after sales support ?
a. Can i recharge online ?
b. Will they respond quickly ?

2. How about channel availability ? i plan to subscribe to some rarely available channels like vh1 , Travel and Living , Animax etc etc A la carte ....

3. Any offers ?

4. Auxiliary services (like TATA sky Active)?

at my place Dish tv is good in services...

Tata sky maybe better in Metros..

Dear if you are planning to shift from Sun direct then i suggest you to go for Dishtv, I think its the best right now.

After sales support is good in dishtv.

a. Can i recharge online ?
Yes You can recharge through online and also their are a number of ways for recharge like ITZ cash cards, cash, cheque etc

b. Will they respond quickly ?
Yes .

2. How about channel availability ? i plan to subscribe to some rarely available channels like vh1 , Travel and Living , Animax etc etc A la carte ....

Almost all the channels are available on dishtv and all these channels are available on dishtv at very economical cost in fact dishtv have max number of channels total about 240 channels.
3. Any offers ?
Yes currently they Combo Offer-- @ Rs.2090 + Rs.200 Installation and get 3 months platinum pack free. and also get recharge benefits worth Rs.600 free.


4. Auxiliary services (like TATA sky Active)?
Yes Dishtv have lots of active services and games
ICICI Active
Bhakti Active
Astro Active
Sports Active
News Active

And also games.

Thank you neo001......... i just went through DishTv's Packages and found that it was indeed better than TATA Sky's .... both economical and the channel selection for Base pack was very good..... The add on packs are most economical among DTH service providers imo

Now i have a doubt

I choose a base pack and then an add on pack ..... if my add on pack has 4 channels ,among which 3 are already present in the base pack .... will i still be charged the full amount for the add on packs ?

And how long will they take to deliver it to my home if i order it online ?

I suggest you to go for Dish Maxi. It'll cost you around Rs. 300 and you'll get the channels of your liking,i.e, VH1,Animax and Travel 'n' living...

I heard Sports Active has been taken out of DishTV's ch offering ?
