Thread: Disadvantage of having DTH service

The main disadvantage I see in DTH services is that when the weather is bad there is no signal. In the past few days the weather has been quite bad as in rain and wind, and this has affected the signal for Tata Sky as well as other DTH service providers. Its at this time i think i should have stayed with the cable operator.

Yes i also stay with my cable operator because we have two television in DTH we have to see same channel in both television.In cable we can see different channel in both TV.
2nd I calculate & compare the monthly rate of both and finally I think in my area local cable is cheap.
3rd you have mention the weather factor.
4th Now about DVD quality movie. i can say only one think that normally I never watch movie in television channel still I have 25-30 original DVD and 200+ DVD-RIP(avi file) movies which i see through DVD player in TV set.

The rain outage normally does not last very long unless there is a storm that lasts for long time. In Pune, we have had non-stop rains over the last week (today the sky is much clearer). But rain interruption never lasted very long.

The greatest disadvantage of DTH in my opinion is that we have to subscribe to multiple connection for multiple TVs in the same house.

I agree with this partly, when i had cable TV then also during the monsoon the quality went down significantly and i had to call the service provider now and then. with DTH when the wether is bad the signal is lost and there is nothing to watch.

This is applicable for all Conditional Access Systems (CAS). DTH, IPTV, CAS-Cable TV i.e. wherever a Set Top Box is required.

That is true.

DTH has a main problem with weather..

not only whether we are also tied to service how worst it may be.

Big TV.
i am planning to sell of now.
we get around 20+ regional channels.
BigTv provide only 7-8 channels.
