You all might be aware that World Space has cancelled their Radio Broadcast services in India with effect from 31st December 2009. The worst part – No Refund will be paid to the subscribers for any unused portion of the subscription.
As per World Space Inc. the main reason for the decision is given that the potential buyer of World space assets has decided not to buy assets related to subscription business in India.
The Annual subscription charges in India were Rs. 1800/-. World space have around 2 lacs subscribers around the world out of which more than 95% are from India.
What can you do now?
As per the Announcement made on the World space official website, one may have a potential remedy under the U.S bankruptcy law. You can file a claim under the claim procedure specially designed by U.S govt. for the event like these.
Further, in the announcement, it has been mentioned that the claim servicing company will send a notice to all the creditors whose details will be provided by the company. To ensure that you receive updates about the process you need to send following information by mail to World Space or email to Rakesh Raghavan at World space Inc. headquarters in US.
