    Default Please HELP!!!

I recently shifted to Dhurv-Tara, Dahisar (Mumbai).
The problem is I have a north-west facing apartment.
And the society rules do no allow for installation of Dishes on the terrace or any common area.
I very badly need to get the DTH Connection.
Could you please help with any alternatives ?
I dont think talking to east facing apartment owners and getting a line through them is going to work.
    Please advise.
Any DTH dishes get signal facing north-west ?

The society is denying you a fundamental right. It cannot make bye laws that impede the rights of members - however holy they may appear. You can take the society to court on this matter. Either the society must provide the facility by having a common dish antenna or allow members to install their own provided that the antenna does not intrude upon the open spaces. For example, antenna could be installed on the perimeter wall.

Make a formal complaint on this matter to the society. You can seek a legal opinion in this case.

What are other flat occupanets with similar direction doing? Do you not have any windows that open towards South-East? If you do then just get the installation guy to take off the grill and fix it under the window.

Who is your DTH provider ? .
Normally the dish has to be oriented to wards the Satellite, Azimuth/Elevation, and even from ground level the signals can be
received. Need a Clear line of sight to the sky ( open space ). Then the cable has to be taken to your flat . to connect to SET TOP box.
    Another objection ??
Access to the terrace by Technicians for Installation/repair etc with the knowledge/permission of the Society Secretary.

Your Society members should call a General Body meeting, and
pass a resolution, to allow flat owners to have Dish Antennae, installed in the terrace or as suggested parapet wall. ( one time activity)
In my Flat there are three dish Antennae mounted on parapet wall
on Eastern side Western side, northern side. But looking skywards in different angles. (TATA/AIRTEL/SUN DTH PROVIDERS ).

Sorry none in North west direction.

Once upon a time, Dish size was enormous, costing about One Lakh Rupees, and the restriction could have been enforced at that time. because of the weight etc.

Any rule framed by any one/society etc , which is not fair and just, in the eyes of the LAW , can be struck down.
The Society or its Secretary, may claim that the Dish Antennae in the terrace, affect the Building stability, or beauty value etc.
If you are the owner of a flat in the Complex, you can raise the matter in a GB meeting.

In one flat complex ALL were compelled to take AIRTEL DTH only, as the promoters made an agreement , even in construction stage to allow AIRTEL only.Flat buyers bound by this agreement.

In an apartment rental complex, ( In U.S) when we dried only bath towels in the Balcony, everyone in the complex got a Xeroxed circular , Requesting not to use the Balcony, for any other purpose , other than decorations or keep small flower pots !!! If we ignored the circular, next month we would have got Notice to vacate !!!

( Mostly we used washing machine/drier). Now Even drying cloths in the open considered "infradig" in OWN house.
