Hi,

Before cable and DTH, if you remember all houses had antennas,. which looked like fish skeletons, just to receive 1 or 2 channels. The method adopted to send these were FM (Frequency Modulation), and AM (Amplitude Modulation), out of which AM is used only for short wave radio communication. SW1, SW2.

FM were used for TV reception. Now my question is, we have a lot a FM radio stations, and the sound quality is excellent, since FM supports steriophonic sound.
Why cant we get this sound quality in out DTH reception? Even the music channels, if you plug in your ear phones, you can actually hear less steriophonic reprodction. Just to make sure, I played a music DVD, and the output from TV was excellent.

So, is it just the picture quality that DTH are aiming at?

Regards
Nevin.
