    Default Monthly Charges for DTH

Like discussed before on this section, every dh provider charges a different amount for their services, some charge more some charge less. No one has the same dth provider or have the same number of channels subscribed, so lets find out how much you pay monthly for your dth services and how many channels you have subscribed to if you know, also mention what dth provider you have.

Tata sky used to charge Rs125 only for the second connection and recently increased it to I think 200 which has shot up my monthly outgoing with tata sky. I did look for another provider who would charge lesser for secondary connections but they all seem to be charging almost similarly.

If you do change over to another service provider, there would be so much hassle, as I read from one of Just4kix posts, the installation, plus if you have an HD box the charges for that aswell.......I think if you have the extra money to spare then its ok, but if your a bit tight on money then its not even worth changing DTH services.

Most DTH providers give a Rs. 1000 or something like that as a rebate to new customers. By a common understanding, the DTH providers do not want a war of attrition. So any advertising is not done. But if you call the call center and ask for a rebate they will give it. That is the key - you have to ask - स्विच करता हूँ, कितना कम करोगे? As they advertise on TS: पूंछने में क्या जाता है?

Is Rs2200 included in the cost of Rs6400 or not? Because if its not thats a hell lot of money your spending.

Nope. Rs. 8600 in total. Annual HD Megapack (all channels except SunTV channels) on the primary connection and the same channels (incl. HD) on the second TV. Yes. It is quite a lot. I may switch to Videocon D2H at the end of the year.

I think the lowest monthly cost for DTH subscription is around Rs250, is that correct?

No, it is not ! I paid Rs.1140 for DishTv south Minimum package for 6 months ! True, not all channels, it has one English News channel CNN IBN, one business channel, Zee Business, most Kannada channels, many Zee movie channels, HBO and Star Movies, very few sports channels (though they give free sports channels whenever India plays, like IPL, Champions Trophy, etc) that is enough for our family !

I think there are packs which are lower than that, therefore making the monthly subsciptions lower than Rs250
