Thread: Other country channels?

I just wanted to ask that is there any possibility that we can see other country channels on our TV sets. I have heard that i can see them on my computer through some websites but is there any chances that i can do this from my Tv Set?

No, you would not be able to see othe country channels in India as it would not be possbile and you can only see the channels which your service provider permits you but from internet you can see any channel worldwide.

To see any foreign channel on your TV you must be able to receive their channel signals first. This is possible only via tapping directly to the (foreign) satellite dish. There are unscramblers available (abroad) that can decode/unscramble these signals.

So you want to say that we would have to talk with that service provider and then if they are ready to give there signal to India then only we would be able to see it.. and i think then we would also have to pay there monthly charges.

Alas! That is also not possible. The other service provider does not have a license to transmit in India. If he had, we would have been getting those channels anyway.

If someone wants to tap "foreign" channels, then that person would have to purchase a dish/LNB equipment to point to the source, would also require a hacker STB to decrypt the signals. This is down right piracy. I will never recommend this.

No. I am just a bit better informed. I am technology driven. My main profession is software in the area of:

a) Enterprise Resource Planning
b) Supply Chain Management
c) Demand Driven Planning

I am an expert in Oracle database, SQL, PL/SQL, etc.

I am reasonably well versed with my following hobbies:

a) Photography
b) Videography (incl making home DVD's with proper authoring such as motion menus, chapters, links). I used to make VCD's earlier (not for commercial sale).
c) Home Theatre

Basically I read (and sometimes preach ) a lot.
